Mission
Our goal is to enhance the art of dressage through training seminars, schooling shows, and other educational events through Southeastern Arizona. In addition we are
committed to supporting regional outreach organizations and charities through our activities. In this way we seek to enrich and support the communities in which we live, while broadening the exposure and appeal of dressage to an ever increasing number of people.
Membership
The association's goal is to provide as many opportunities for active participation in the organization and operation of SAzDA as possible. All members will be given an opportunity to express their preferences about club activities. In this way, the energy, creativity and talents of all members can be utilized for the
association's benefit.
Leadership Structure
There is a leadership committee that will be responsible for coordinating the group activities. The group will meet via e-mail and formulate plans of action and recommendations to be presented to the membership. The membership will then be polled by e-mail and the website for their preferences regarding decisions.
The leadership committee will consist of the following individuals:
- Leadership Coordinator
Oversees club activities, recruits individuals interested in performing various tasks, monitors progress of group projects and activities. This person is one of the primary USDF contacts.
- Membership Coordinator
Maintains an updates membership roster, coordinates deposit of membership dues into account and maintains membership database. This person is the membership liaison to USDF and will submit monthly updates of the roster to that organization.
- Awards Coordinator
Maintains a roster of registered horse/rider teams. Maintains
performance records of these teams and at the end of the SAzDA show season,
calculates the averages for each horse and determines eligibility for
year-end awards
Responsible for maintaining the minutes of the association. The
secretary may be required to produce correspondence as needed. The secretary
may appoint a temporary replacement if they are unable to attend a meeting.
Responsible for maintaining the financial records of the organization.
- Newsletter Coordinator
This person is responsible for editing, organizing, posting the newsletter
on the website and mailing it. This includes maintaining an activities and show calendar. While the newsletter coordinator will make a reasonable effort to gather information on group activities, it is the responsibility of individual event coordinator (schooling show etc.) to inform the newsletter coordinator of upcoming events, dates and details.
It is the duty of all coordinators to submit material for publication to the
Newsletter Coordinator.
- Education Coordinator
This person will be responsible for gathering and synthesizing information and suggestions regarding educational opportunities for club members. These events will include the following types of activities:
- Educational Seminars - Riding Clinics
- Newsletter Articles
- Community Outreach Coordinator
This person is responsible for identifying and
contacting local community organizations that may benefit from a partnership with SADA.
Club Logistics and Particulars
- Membership fee is $40.00 per person. The membership year shall be a
calendar year. An Awards Nomination fee of $25 will be collected for each
eligible horse/rider team. Rider and owner of the horse must be members of
SAzDA to be eligible.
- Meeting minutes and newsletters will be distributed by mail and posted on
the web site. The leadership committee will communicate with the
membership and present issues to the membership for comments and suggestions.
If decisions regarding expenditures or activities need to be made then there
will be a deadline for responses. (For example: "The club would like to purchase Reiner Klimke´s series of dressage videos for our lending library at a cost of $X. If you have objections to this please respond within a week")
- There will be an emphasis on educational activities and social activities, such as dressage video parties, groups travel to clinics, gatherings at recognized shows and other social events
.
- Schooling shows which will be a large initial portion of the clubs activities will be directed by individual facilities. There will be no recognition fee
for shows wishing to be included in the Awards Program. However, in the interests of fairness, schooling shows need to follow USEF rules to qualify for year end awards.
The exception to this rule includes allowing half-chaps and waiving jackets.
